When I reflect on the way I used to think about God being “with” us (as in Immanuel) I sometimes felt just a little uneasy, as much as to think “that doesn’t really cover it”. Today I thought, for some reason, of the word Immanent, (fully within) which, although, perhaps, not strictly truly or fully describing Christ As Us, ( which is notwithstanding a true experience), might help us to raise our thoughts to believe and embrace our Christ consciousness. Now I’m not getting all etymological on you but is it only a coincidence that 1.The original prophecy called the coming Jesus Christ “Immanuel”.
2. The gospel reiterates it, in the Greek translation of the Old Testament, The Septuagint, as the same name (yet the Greek includes more of an emphasis on immanence) and 3.Although countless people, not just Christians, believe that God is “in His creation”, even the connection within different languages point the same word “Immanence” or “Immanuel” to signify related, and possibly higher, connotations.
